Apr 16, 2008, 15:21 GMT
Copenhagen - Rock veteran Neil Young and US hip-hop star Jay-Z as well as the Chemical Brothers are slated to appear at the upcoming Roskilde music festival in Denmark, organizers said Wednesday.
Some roughly 180 acts were due to appear at the four-day festival including Judas Priest, Radiohead, MIA, Cult, Slayer, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Kings of Leon.
The festival runs July 3 to 6.
This year's theme for fund-raising in connection with the festival is on fair trade, electronics and minerals, focusing on the Democratic Republic of Congo.
'Fair Phone - Fair Future' will highlight the role and responsibility of companies that extract key minerals used in electronic devices like mobile telephones.
Funds are generated mainly through bottle deposits at the festival.
The first Roskilde festival was held in 1971, inspired by similar events at Woodstock and the Isle of Wight.
