Kylie Minogue flops in the US

Kylie Minogue's latest bid to crack the US has flopped.

The 'Wow' singer released her 10th studio album 'X' in America on April 1, but it has sold just 5,500 copies and limped into the Billboard chart at number 139.A source said: "She'll be very disappointed not even to make it into the top 100." The 39-year-old star - who has enjoyed huge success throughout the rest of the world - launched a major charm offensive in a bid to succeed Stateside this month and appeared on several high-profile TV shows.She performed her new single 'All I See' in a raunchy bondage-style outfit on 'Dancing with the Stars' and told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres her breast cancer had initially been misdiagnosed by doctors.But Kylie has admitted cracking America is a daunting task.She said: "It's a notoriously difficult market. To know where I fit is very difficult."Kylie is not the first music star big in the UK to flop in the US. Robbie Williams - who duetted with Kylie on the 2000 hit 'Kids' - has tried and failed on several occasions to make it in America. (C) BANG Media International

Im not surprised,you can only re/package bubblegum pop music over and over and over before the teenage fan base grows up and develops taste in music and sees the kiddie pop for what it is (swimming in the shallow end of the musical gene pool)
