bob dylan is important to music, i don't even think so.
as bruce springstein said on more than one occasion when dylan wrote and recorded like a rollin stone, every songwriter after that would owe dylan for forging a new path in music. ron wood of the stones said if not for dylanmusic would not be where it is today.there are so many groups and bands that simply would not have made it without covering dylan songs,and the list goes on and on sorta like a rolling stone.
