The Enemy's drug vow
Mar 30, 2008, 6:00 GMT
The Enemy frontman Tom Clarke has vowed never to take drugs.
Tom has seen drugs ruin people's lives and has consequently decided not to experiment with any illegal substances.
He said: "I've never wanted to know. I've seen drugs destroy a lot of people. I've seen it ruin personalities that I like. The person is still the same, but it's like something has gone inside, and hollowed them out and taken the personality out of them.
"I know in 2008 I'm probably in the minority of never experimenting with drugs, but anyone who says you can't say no because it's everywhere, that's b*****ks. You can say no, it's easy. I now exist in a world where it's around me every day and I still have no desire to start doing it."
Tom also revealed he is a workaholic, which can annoy his bandmates, drummer Liam Watts and bass guitarist Andy Hopkins.
He said: "I'm definitely a massive workaholic. I know it can annoy other people who work with me. Producers, or even my bandmates Andy and Liam when we've been working for hours and hours, I'm like, 'No, let's get this bit right before we stop.'
"I love being in the studio, it's your chance to make something that lasts forever. I think I've got quite an extreme personality - it's all or nothing!"
