Ola Brunkert, a former drummer for 1970s Swedish pop group ABBA, was found dead from an apparent accident in his home in Mallorca, Spanish authorities said Monday. He was 61.
A shattered glass pane allegedly caused the musician to bleed to death, Reuters reports. Autorites say an autopsy is underway.
According to the official ABBA Web site, Brunkert, a one-time jazz drummer, also belonged to the Slim's Blues Gang, before becoming part of the pop group Science Poption in the mid-'60s.
People magazine reports that Brunkert and bass player Rutger Gunnarsson are the "only two musicians to perform on all ABBA albums."
Brunkert also toured with ABBA in 1977, 1979 and 1980.
With hits such as "Dancing Queen." ABBA's vocalists – Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog are known worldwide.
