Duffy’s 'Mercy' lands the iTunes Single of the Week

"Mercy," the lead single from Duffy's album ‘Rockferry,’ has landed the iTunes Single of the Week. The album arrives on store shelves March 13th.
Born and raised in Nefyn, North Wales, Duffy has a vocal ability that towers above expectation. Evocative of the music that raised her, yet thoroughly modern, her soulful sound combines a longing, scratchy blues feel with the rustic sound of modern life.
She began songwriting at the age of 10, influenced by Doris Duke, Bettye Swann, Scott Walker and Richard Hawley. She has spent the past two years creating the album that would mark her arrival: ‘Rockferry.’
Released in the UK last week, ‘Rockferry’ has already gone platinum, and the lead single, “Mercy," has been straddling the top of the UK national chart for three weeks now.
In the meantime Duffy will be performing at the SXSW Conference in Austin, TX as well as the Coachella Festival in Indio, CA.
