Amy Winehouse will not attend the Grammys after her visa request was denied.
The troubled singer, who has been nominated in six categories at this year's prestigious music awards, was reportedly refused entry to the US because of her ongoing battle with drug addiction.
Amy's spokesman said: "Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony. Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London.
"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.
"Amy has been treated well and fairly by the Embassy staff and thanks everyone for their support in trying to make this happen. There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future."
The singer's spokesman, the US Embassy in London and the State Department in Washington declined to comment on why Amy's visa application was rejected.
However, the 24-year-old star's arrest in Norway for cannabis possession last year was thought to be a significant factor. Amy also entered rehab last month after footage of her smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine was released.
Amy, who was due to duet with rapper Kanye West at the awards ceremony on Sunday (10.02.08), will now perform via a live satellite feed from London.
Ken Ehrlich, who produces the event, said: "You will see Amy Winehouse on the Grammys. I'm very happy."
Tina Turner, Beyoncé Knowles, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Fergie and the Foo Fighters will all perform.
Stevie Wonder, Prince, Nelly Furtado, Ringo Starr and Tom Hanks are set to present awards.
