Social Distortion's sold out California tour

Social Distortion's leadman, Mike Ness, 45, formed Social D in 1978 as a punk combo that favored three-chord anthems like ''Mommy's Little Monster."

The tables turned with their masterpieces album ''Social Distortion" and ''Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell," the tattooed rocker had a sound that perfectly fit his image — a hard, bluesy mix of punk, R&B and Link Ray-rockabilly lyrics about crime and punishment.

The band suffered a loss in 2000 with the death of guitarist Dennis Danell.  It left Ness as the sole surviving founding member.

Social Distortion is on tour in California again, and continues to sell out every tour it undertakes.
