Kanye West's mom has died

Rapper Kanye West's mother, Dr. Donda West, has died, according to Hot 97's Miss Info.
Kanye was in London when he was given the tragic news. He is currently on his way back to the United States, according to TMZ.com.
Rhymefest, who co-wrote Kanye's hit song "Jesus Walks," confirmed the news to WGCI-FM in Chicago.
West often spoke about the close relationship he shared with his mother.
Dr. West worked as the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University before retiring to become her son's manager.
TMZ reports that there is no information on the cause of death.
According to Essence, Kanye's mom was the CEO of West Brands, LLC at the time of her death. She was also Chair of the Kanye West Foundation.
A rep for Kanye confirmed to WLS-TV in Chicago that Kanye's mom passed away Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Kanye's mother was an educator; and seeing how successful her son is, proves that she was deticated. I cannot imagine how Kanye feels, but from a fan, your mother will truely be missed because we all saw how much she meant to you. Our prayers are with you Kanye.

Its even more tragic when its unexpected I know I lost my mom 10/06 of a drug overdose.

Kanye I am so sorry to hear of your lost. I know how you're feeling since I lost my mom Dec of 2005. Our love for each other was so strong. The tears will near stop, but you will always be surrounded by her memories and her love. Please know that it's good to have family and friends, but GOD is the only person that will be able to help you cope with your lost.

That is terrible. My prayers are with Kanye West. His mom was a great and intelligent woman. She will truly be missed.
