Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz broke his ankle on stage in New Orleans on Sunday (28.10.07).

The 28-year-old musician - who is dating singer Ashlee Simpson - was indulging in some energetic on-stage antics at the Voodoo Music Experience festival when he slipped.

Pete has reassured fans he will not be cancelling any upcoming gigs, writing on website FriendsorEnemies.com: "I've got good news and bad news, which do you want to hear first? For anyone who was at the Voodoo festival in New Orleans - you got to see me jump around.

"I actually ended up breaking the bone that connects my shin to my foot! No shows will be cancelled though. I am currently trying to get a 'rocker' boot so I can have a walking cast. "Currently my foot is the size of a small car. If you see me at a show come and sign my cast."

Pete also posted a picture of his dramatically swollen ankle on the site, and fans rushed to send him their sympathies.

One fan, Tori, wrote: "I'm so sorry, darling. I saw the WHOLE THING, and I knew it - but it was a pretty kick a** jump. I think I got a picture too! Well I hope you heal well and get better soon!"

The emo-rock band are set to play a Halloween show in Miami Beach, Florida, tonight (31.10.07), and will perform another 23 dates across America before finishing their tour on December 2 in Las Vegas.
