Verve's fan help
Oct 20, 2007, 12:30 GMT
The Verve want fans to tell them what songs they want to hear on their upcoming tour.
The recently reunited British band, whose run of UK shows starts in November, are to debut new songs at the concerts but bassist
Simon Jones has also asked the group's followers to email him their favourite tracks.
Jones wrote on his blog: "I don't want to give the game away but I would like some feedback on all this - now's the time to speak up! What have we missed that you wanna hear? Is it too early to play new stuff? Do we skip the obvious? Do we do the obscure? Let me know!"
The musician has also given away the titles of several new tracks - the band's first new material in over a decade - that may feature in the shows and on The Verve's hotly anticipated new album, expected to be released next year.
Titles include, 'Sit And Wonder', 'Judas', 'Appalachian Springs', 'Mona Lisa' and 'Rather Be'.
Jones also revealed what the group - Jones, singer Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe and drummer Pete Salisbury - have been doing in rehearsals.
He added: "The remainder of the last week was spent rehearsing 'up north' (what a freakin luxury to make music away from that big London place!) with Nick and Pete.
"Richard will be joining us later when we've gotten the music together. Gotta say - it was the greatest few days playing old tunes! Started with 'Life's An Ocean' and got to say it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
"So far we have got a shortlist of about 20 tunes to pool from for these first concerts. In no particular order we played - 'Make It Till Monday', 'Virtual World', 'She's A Superstar', 'Gravity Grave', 'This Is Music', 'A New Decade', 'On Your Own', 'History', 'Stormy Clouds', 'Life's An Ocean', 'A Northern Soul', 'All In The Mind!' (Sounded Amazing), 'Bitter Sweat Symphony', 'Drugs Don't Work', 'Sonnet', 'Lucky Man', 'Come On', 'Weeping Willow', 'Rolling People', 'Velvet Morning', 'Space And Time', 'Man Called Sun', 'Starsail' and the new ones."
The Verve - who endured numerous bust-ups and temporary splits - disbanded for good in 1999, after Ashcroft and McCabe's strained relationship finally snapped. They announced they were reuniting in June.
