Prince's incredible 21-night residency at London's 02 arena came to an end last night (21.09.07).
The musician thrilled fans with a set packed with his most famous hits, including 'Purple Rain', 'Kiss', 'Let's Go Crazy', '1999' and 'Cream'.
Prince opened the historic show with 'I Feel For You' and 'Controversy', both of which were broadcast live on TV channel Sky News in a deal which saw the star allow the station access to the concert for free.
Fans were given purple glow-sticks upon entering the arena, and as the flamboyant musician took to the stage in total darkness the venue was lit up by a sea of lights.
Throughout the night the sell-out crowd screamed Prince's name and the star seemed genuinely touched by their adoration.
As he played 'Kiss', he said: "This is confusing. The quicker I go through these hits, the sooner I'll be gone. I'm not trying to go nowhere, I love it in London!"
Before launching into a medley of hits, which included 'Little Red Corvette' and 'I Would Die 4 U', alone on the piano, he said: "Thank you London, for what we will always remember."
After his solo piano performance, Prince played 'Purple Rain' - during which his backing dancers The Twinz waved giant flags - before disappearing through a cloud of smoke through the stage.
His encore featured another mesmerising solo performance at the piano, including 'Sign O' The Times' and 'When Doves 'Cry', and a version of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' backed by his impressive band.
As he left the stage, Prince thanked the crowd, saying: "Thank you so much. We'll never forget this."
However, fans aware the star has made a habit of returning for surprise encores during his mammoth run refused to leave and stayed chanting his name and cheering.
Their persistence finally paid off and Prince returned to the stage, saying: "If you ain't going home, then I ain't going home!"
He then played 'When U Were Mine' and 'Girls and Boys' finally bringing the curtain down on his incredible residency.
During the summer, Prince has spent over 52 hours on stage, played to over 500,000 people and performed over 500 songs.
