Guns KillSep 4th, 2007 - 16:22:50

Another person dead because of easy access to guns. Shoot first, ask questions later I guess. Terrible tragedy, entirely avoidable.

I'm guessing he wouldn't have been shot had he not been trying to kick in a front door at 4 AM. This is just Darwin working through a homeowner.

Guns don't kill, the people using them do.
Even if guns were outlawed, people would find something else to use to kill with. Be it knife, sword, bat, or a glass window.

So if the moron trying to kick in the door had a gun = possible dead homeowner. You can choose to cower while someone ransacks your home or attacks your family. Not me!

You would think the person would wait rather then just start shooting at a door. What if it was a kid playing a prank or a dare?

throw another on the pileSep 4th, 2007 - 20:42:02

yeah, if you are prepared to kick in someone's door, at any time of day, you'd better be prepared to get shot.

' easy access to guns '
One word ' Rwanda ' , another word ' Cambodia ' . Guns were not used to kill those hundreds of thousands of people . Knives , clubs , bats , iron bars , etc etc were used .
Maybe if the victims had some guns they could have defended themselves .
Another word ' Germany ' , maybe if The Jews were as heavily armed as they are no the Holocaust would not have happened .

Of course I wasn't there etc etc, but it sounds to me like boyfriend finds out girlfriend has been boinking the next door neighbor. Boyfriend may have (a) walked out on her, (b) harmed her and/or (c) harmed next door neighbor. It seems like (c) may have been the first option. Security inside your own home still gets a lot of deference in the U.S. Someone trying to kick down your door at 4 a.m. does not require the utmost restraint on the homeowner's part. We may know a lot more when the girlfriend and neighbor are interviewed some more.

I see the whiners are blaming the guns as usual. (The liberals could start an anti-cheese campaign and these same idiots would start screaming the horrors of cheese). It seems to me this is a lesson to all. Don't go kicking your neighbor's door down in the middle of the night. Had the guy made a different choice, and respected his neighbor's property, he would not be dead.
