The Rolling Stones will reportedly quit touring for good after playing London's O2 Arena this Sunday (26.08.07).

The veteran rockers are believed to have declared that their current 'A Bigger Bang Tour' will be their last because frontman Sir Mick Jagger, 64, and guitarist Keith Richards, 63, will be too old to do another.

A source said: "We've been told this will be the last tour. Embarking on a Stones world tour takes years to plan. Mick and Keith would be in their late 60s by the time they would be ready to rock once more."

Mick, Keith, drummer Charlie Watts, 66, and guitarist Ronnie Wood, 60, end their massive two-year tour this week with three dates at the new O2 Arena, with their final performance on Sunday (26.08.07).

The band was formed in 1962 and has been touring regularly ever since.

The group have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide over the last five decades, and played thousands of sold-out shows.

The Stones have been receiving rave reviews for the latest leg of their tour, and wowed 60,000 at Ireland's Slane Castle on Saturday (18.08.07).

SP4: Say It Ain't So Mick!Aug 20th, 2007 - 13:59:59

I saw them for the first time 7 or 8 years ago. It was the best concert I've ever seen.

I have seen them too many times to count. Always the best! Always a thrill. I think if this is true - they will be going out on top. They give it all live - and still can show the younger bands how it's done.

Please, please...tell me this is true. They really suck these days and are doing their legacy absolutely no justice...especially Mick. Just let us remember the old days and stop sucking up everyone's money....you have enough.

'bout time. Shameless self promotion and little quality to show for it since Exile on Main Street. Goodbye and good riddance.

'egregious' and 'brad' you are officially the biggest tools alive. the rolling stones are one of the greatest bands in history! the fact that they have been playing and performing and making music for so long just adds more to thier legacy. they have had a VERY good run but i think they have it in them to do one more world tour.....or at least come to australia. PLEASE! as for you tools, 'pleased to meet you. hope you get my name'

i have been waiting for new bands that are as good as the stones for far to many years. i stopped listening to the mountains of crap that come out every year. only a small number of bands in the last twenty years are worth calling good. i do not want a band that sounds like the stones, just some good music. you can call my taste dated, but after about 1969 and the video revolution it's been all about image & stupid videos that go with them, so please no more videos just music. the stones will keep me rocking long after they retire they are just that damn good!
