Arctic Monkeys leave home
Jul 16, 2007, 12:50 GMT
The Arctic Monkeys are planning to quit Sheffield for London.
The four piece band - who all grew up in the Yorkshire city - may be forced to move to the UK capital because they spend so much time there working.
Frontman Alex Turner told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "We haven't spent a great deal of time in Sheffield lately and maybe after this year we might want to go somewhere else.
"Staying in Sheffield is not a deliberate anti-London thing. We're not afraid of living there, but it will be a real hassle not having our mothers around to do our washing though."
The 21-year-old rocker is also worried that Sheffield is his musical inspiration, and fears his songwriting might be affected by the move.
He said: "I tried to write some stuff the other day in a hotel room and it was just rubbish. So maybe I just need to be back in my bedroom at home in Sheffield."
