The Roots and Brandi Carlile to hit the road for VH1 tours

The Roots and Brandi Carlile are set to hit the road in September for two tours sponsored by VH1.
The Roots will be part of the first Hip Hop Honors tour – which is based on VH1’s annual Hip Hop Honors awards show. The tour will feature other special guest, and will cover 15 cities. The tour will start on Sept. 13th in San Francisco and end on Oct. 5th at New York’s Nokia Theatre (in time for VH1’s third edition of Hip Hop Honors).
Brandi Carlile will be the headliner for VH1’s second You Oughta Know tour – which features upcoming music acts the channel dubs “You Oughta Know” artists. The first You Oughta Know tour featured Mat Kearney, the Feeling and Rocco DeLuca & the Burden. This tour is scheduled to feature some of the female “You Oughta Know” artists. The 32-city tour will start on Sept. 6th in Eugene, Ore.
