Miley Cyrus took over the No. 1 spot on the U.S. pop album charts on Wednesday holding Kelly Clarkson’s ‘My December’ to No. 2. Bon Jovi’s ‘Lost Highway’ dropped to the No. 3 position, and The White Stripes’ ‘Icky Thump’ settled for No. 4.

Cyrus’ odd titled ‘Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus’ sold 326,000 album for the week ended July 1, while Clarkson’s album saw 291,000 sales – which was an improvement on her last album’s debut sales.
‘Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus’ is a two-disc double album with 20 tracks divided between the young singer’s Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" and her debut album. The release is also not her first trip to the No. 1 spot. She has a No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October, 2006, with the release of the first "Hannah Montana" soundtrack. Miley is also the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus – who also appears on "Hannah Montana."
Although Clarkson has been faced with criticism and controversy concerning her new album, ‘My December’ has been a success with her fans so far. The album has seen better sales than the singer’s 2004 smash ‘Breakaway,’ (which debuted at No. 3 with 250,000 sales).
