The Spice Girls are back and have announced plans for a reunion tour. The girl power band (which includes Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown) held a press conference at London's O2 Arena to announce the group would hit the road starting in Los Angeles on Dec. 7th.

The tour announcement included dates in Las Vegas, New York, London, Cologne and Madrid in December. The girl group is also scheduled to perform in Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires in January 2008.
The Spice Girls became a dominate force on the pop charts with the Virgin Records release of their debut single “Wannabe” in 1996. The song became an unstoppable hit in the U.S. and U.K. The girls kept the hits coming with follow up singles “Say You'll Be There” and “Spice Up Your Life.”
The band was better known by their Spice nicknames - Posh, Ginger, Sporty, Baby and Scary. They won four BRIT awards and sold more than 55 million records. However, Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) split from the band in 1998 and the other girls calling it quits in 2001. Since the split, they have all pursued solo music careers – with Victoria “Posh Spice” finding fame as the wife of soccer superstar David Beckham and her modeling career.
In addition to the tour, EMI Group Plc has announced plans to release a Spice Girls' “greatest hits” album in November.
