The White Stripes rock vinyl records with 'Icky Thump'

The White Stripes have set a new record with the biggest-selling vinyl single in the UK with the release of ‘Icky Thump.’

The new track shot to No. 2 on June 17th chart and in two days broke the 10,000 sales mark for the seven-inch version of the single.Music Week reported Wet Wet Wet's 'Love Is All Around' was the last single release to reach more than 50,000 vinyl singles sold. However, that accomplishment was over 15 weeks. Some of the band’s vinyl success has been tagged with the duo’s decision to giveaway a free seven-inch single of ‘Rag and Bone’ with issues of NME in June.The giveaway was on a red vinyl, and its packaging included space for the white seven-inch vinyl of 'Icky Thump.' ‘Icky Thump’ was released to store shelves on Tuesday, June 19th.‘Icky Thump’ is now available at Amazon.
