Singer/actress Mandy Moore has released her new album ‘Wild Hope’ – which marks her songwriting debut. The album was released via an innovative partnership between The Firm Music and EMI Distribution.
Recorded at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, NY and produced by John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Liz Phair), ‘Wild Hope’ “epitomizes a labor of love and showcases Moore’s foray into songwriting.”
In collaboration with a slew of critically acclaimed singer-songwriters such as Rachael Yamagata, The Weepies, Lori McKenna, among others, the result of this two year endeavor is an organic, folk album with pop sensibilities boasting beautifully constructed melodies, compelling vocals and sophisticated lyrical content.
‘Wild Hope’ was clearly influenced by consummate artists such as Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac. It commences with “Extraordinary” - a collaboration with indie pop-folk duo, The Weepies and concludes with the ballad, “Gardenia” - co-written by Chantal Kreviazuk.
Moore penned songs like the upbeat “All Good Things” also with The Weepies, the revealing “Most of Me” with Lori McKenna and “Ladies Choice” –a steadfast & symphonious anthem - with Rachael Yamagata.
“Making this record has been the most exciting and fulfilling creative experience of my life,” Moore explained. “I knew exactly what type of album I wanted to make & firmly held my ground.”
“It is therefore especially rewarding to be part of a venture in which artistic freedom is encouraged,” Moore proudly stated in reference to the progressive label deal designed to better benefit artists, while affording them substantial creative input.
Moore, a multi-talent who has already achieved an impressive level of crossover success, will also appear in multiple films this year co-starring with the likes of Robin Williams and Billy Crudup, among other esteemed actors.
