Kelly Clarkson gets “Sober” on the web

Whether it’s the funky new wave of “One Minute” or the startlingly confessional “Sober,” ‘My December’ shows another side of Kelly Clarkson.
On the heels of her first single from the album, “Never Again,” which has already climbed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, Kelly Clarkson has released “Sober,” a dramatic, cascading ballad, to radio and internet media.
After the tremendous success of 2004's ‘Breakaway,’ which sold 6 million in the U.S. and 11 million worldwide on the strength of such #1 hits as "Since U Been Gone," the title track, "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You" and "Walk Away," Kelly Clarkson earned the right to make the kind of album she wanted to make for her third RCA Records effort, ‘My December.’
Produced by Grammy winner David Kahne [The Strokes, Bangles, Sugar Ray, Sublime, Paul McCartney], ‘My December’ is Clarkson’s most personal album yet, all of which she’s either written or co-written. Whether it’s the funky new wave of “One Minute” or the startlingly confessional “Sober,” ‘My December’ shows another side of Kelly Clarkson.
‘My December’ is the third album from Kelly Clarkson, and the follow-up to 2004’s ‘Breakaway.’ It will be released on June 26th by RCA Records.

i love 'sober'. the first time i heard it i admit i wasn't too keen but it definately grew on me. i love the ending of the song. kelly's vocals are amazing. i can't wait for the new album to come out on the 25th here in the UK.
This song is alright.. i guess..

From the first few minutes of the song i was like it was good...but after the song was louder with drums and guitars and everything i loved it!...especially when her upper register was released in the song i got chills llike nothing! This song deserves a grammy for her vocals and lyrics!
What is up with that outfit? Is she trying to look like Amy from Evanescence??
Is that more of Ben Moody's influence? Trying to make over Kelly into Amy. Plus Sober is the title? Very similar to Amy's song as well. Ben and Kelly move on to something original.

Man Ben Moody worked with Kelly on her Breakaway albulm; Kelly did My December without him on her own. She wrote all over the record. Now about Sober, I totally love it! It just got to me, almost made me cry. Sad song. I love the feeling and melody of it. Love her voice. It is such an awsome inspirational song sung by an awsome person. Can't wait to buy My December. Kelly Clarkson rox!!!!
I agree with the posts below. Sober was so real and raw. it expreses Kelly's feelings from the heart with no mixed in crap from Clive Davis. I love it. It seriously brought tears to my eyes. To know that someone can express this much emotion and show it to the world gives hope for the rest of us. She is just wanting to share her emotions with someone she is lonely like so many of us.
The song is going to be re-added July 11th to radio because it wasn't doing well but an unknown source predicts that next week SOBER will be big!!!!!!
This week it debuted at #110 on the U.S Hot 100(lowest debut ever) and #93 on the pop100. Hopefully next week it will chart on the Canadian Hot 100!!!!!! Also this week Never Again climbs 2 places to #20!!!!!!( U.S hot 100) and jumped 5 places to #22 on the Canadian Hot 100. Also the Duet with Reba, Because Of You, leaps to #52 on the U.S Hot 100, #56 on the pop 100,#15 on hot country songs, and debuts @ #60 on the Canadian Hot 100. 'My December' debuts @ #2 in the U.S selling 291,000 copies. It also debuted @ #2 in Canada!!!!!! This was a good week for KELLY CLARKSON!!!!!!

kelly's awesome.
this song is slow to catch on, but it gets better with every listen.
i absolutely love the ending of this song. wish there was more of it earlier on the song. but kelly's vocals are great at the beginning nonetheless. can't wait to see her sing this live. rock on, kel.
