Rolling Stones' European tour kicks off to 'triumphant' start

London - The Rolling Stones' European tour has got off to a 'triumphant' start in Belgium, where the large number of concert- goers caused an immediate traffic jam, the BBC reported Wednesday.
The veteran rockers played in front of 33,000 fans in the town of Werchter, near Brussels, which experienced traffic tailbacks of up to 50 kilometres as a result.
The Belgian newspaper De Morgen greeted the performance as a 'triumph.'
The Stones' 30-date show takes in new venues for the band, including Serbia and Russia, winding up with three dates in London in August.
The latest leg of their A Bigger Bang tour will also take in France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and Scandinavia.
Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are also on the itinerary.
More than 80,000 tickets have been sold for the July 14 gig in Belgrade, where the venue has been moved from the city's racecourse over fears that the 300 horses living in the stables could be upset.
