Country superstar Toby Keith headed to Okla. Hall of Fame

Country singer Toby Keith will join seven others as inductees into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Other names being inducted this year include the new majority owner of an NBA franchise and a civil rights pioneer. Toby Keith - Farm Aid 2002 - Concert To Benefit Family Farmers In The United States - Post-Gazette Pavilion - Burgettstown, PA © Jason Perlman / PhotorazziKeith was born in Clinton and now lives in Norman. He has been a force in country music for years with 22 No.1 country music singles and more than 30 million sales of his CDs. His debut single (which was also a No. 1 hit) was “Should’ve been a Cowboy.” Keith has also broken into the movie industry with a turn as an actor in 2006’s Broken Bridges.The other inductees include Oklahoma City businessman Clay Bennett – who was one of the investors that purchased the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics in 2006; civil rights activist Clara Luper – a native of Hoffman; and Muskogee native Linda K. Twine – who is a renowned conductor, composer and music educator.The induction banquet ceremony is scheduled to be held on Nov. 8th in Oklahoma City.
