British singer Amy Winehouse picked up an Ivor Novello songwriting award for her autobiographical top 10 single "Rehab" – which won for best contemporary song on Thursday.
Winehouse, 23, alluded to her tabloid habits when she delivered her thanks for the award. The singer stated: "Thank you all very much. I didn't even have time to get drunk - I've only been here about 15 minutes."
During the awards, the Artic Monkeys walked away with best album for "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not," and Scott Matthews won best song for “Elusive.”
The Feeling picked up the songwriter of the year award and Peter Gabriel received the lifetime achievement award.
The awards are named for musician and songwriter Ivor Novello and are presented by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
