Eve pleads not guilty to DUI

Rapper Eve entered a not guilty plea to misdemeanor charges of drunken driving at an arraignment on Tuesday. The charges stemmed from a traffic accident in Hollywood in April. The performer (whose real name is Jihan Jeffers) was not in court on Tuesday, and had the plea entered on her behalf by her attorney.
Eve, who has also found a career as an actress, has been charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, and failure to provide proof of insurance. She was arrested on April 26 at 2:40 a.m. following an accident where she crashed her gold Maserati into a raised concrete median on Hollywood Boulevard.
She took a breath test which read her blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, according to information from prosecutors. Eve is scheduled to appear in court again on June 28th. She could face a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
