Sir Elton John's European Red Piano tour has been cancelled.
The decision to shelve performances in Venice, Berlin, Moscow, Paris and Seville was announced yesterday (22.05.07).
A spokesman said: "We do of course appreciate that Elton's fans will be disappointed at this news, and we are looking into the possibility of returning to the affected cities in the very near future.”
Elton's tour promoter cancelled the six dates between June 5 and September 14 after admitting it "could not guarantee to put the shows on".
The Red Piano concerts, developed in Las Vegas for his Caesar Palace residency, feature a five-piece band, gigantic video screens and enormous inflatable props.
Elton will still go ahead with several UK shows as part of a separate summer tour.
He is due to perform at Sheffield's Hallam FM Arena tomorrow (24.05.07).
