Former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp was arrested and charged with assault related to a domestic violence incident.
The singer was charged with a count of domestic assault with intent to commit a felony on Sunday. He was held without bond, according to information from a Palm Beach County Jail official.
A Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office spokesman Paul Miller has stated no one was injured or taken to the hospital during the incident. However, he declined to identify the victim. He also stated he had no information concerning the type of physical violence that took place.
Stapp, who is 33, married former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat in February, 2006, at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami. Although she declined to comment about the incident, she told The Palm Beach Post: “It's just a rough time.”
With Stapp, Creed rose to the top of music charts selling more than 25 million records in the United States. Following his split from the band, Stapp has stated a solo career, but has yet to match the level of success with Creed.
