Metal rockers Korn have released “Evolution” the first single from their upcoming eighth studio album. The song hit radio on Thursday, and has popped up on the band’s MySpace page.
Korn has prepared fans for the new album and stated in interviews it would have a “different” sound from the band’s previous releases. Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has stated the album has a “Gothic feel,” but that wasn’t something the band was consciously trying to accomplish.
The band has yet to come up with a finalized title for the new album. Their last effort was 2005's ‘See You on the Other Side.’ Shaffer has stated to MTV.com the band was considering simply calling the album ‘Korn.’ It is scheduled to be released on on July 31st.
Korn is also scheduled to once again co-headline the summer Family Values Tour with Evanescence. The tour will feature stops in 30 cities and kicks off July 20th in St. Louis.
