On the heels of an argument that now has the couple facing charges for damage to a hotel room, Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland’s wife Mary was arrested and booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism. She was booked into a Burbank police station a little after midnight on Sunday morning and was released three hours later after she posted $50,000 for bail.
Mary Weiland, 31, was arrested on Saturday night when officers responded to a call that a female was burning clothes. The officers stated they found a trash can full of burnt clothing when they arrived at the singer's home by Toluca Lake. The investigating officers contacted Weiland who stated the burnt clothing was worth about $10,000. The couple’s children, who are 4 and 6 years old, were placed with family friends.
The arrest happened after police were called to the Graciela Hotel on Pass Avenue earlier on Saturday following reports the couple were in a heated argument in a hotel room and causing damages.
Police stated both rooms had received about $400 worth of damage - including items scattered, damage to the walls and broken plates.
When police arrived at the hotel, Mary Weiland was still present and went with them to give a statement concerning the fight. Weiland, 39, arrived at the police station later with his attorney and also provided a statement.
Police have said Mary Weiland is a suspect in the hotel vandalism, but not Scott Weiland. No charges have been filed yet. If the hotel presses charges, Mary Weiland could be facing a felony because of the cost of the damages to the room.
