Mary J. Blige and Jamie Foxx scooped the top honours at the 21st Anniversary Soul Train Music Awards on Saturday (10.03.07).
The two stars both won best album awards - Jamie for best male album with 'Unpredictable' and Mary for best female album for 'The Breakthrough'.
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson - who first found fame as a contestant on 'American Idol' - won the Sammy Davis Jr. award for Entertainer of the Year.
Hudson - who also performed at the ceremony - said: "I just can't believe it. I'm standing on the same stage where I made the top 32 of 'American Idol'."
Fellow 'Dreamgirls' star Beyoncé Knowles also picked up an award for best female single for her worldwide hit 'Irreplaceable'.
The star's boyfriend, Jay-Z, was also successful on the night, winning the Michael Jackson award for best soul or rap video for 'Show Me What You Got'.
The Soul Train Music Awards - which took place in California - are sponsored by TV music show 'Soul Train' and celebrate R'n'B, hip-hop and gospel artists.
