Police add concert dates for Oakland and Los Angeles

The Police have added more stops to their planned reunion tour which will now take the band to Oakland and Los Angeles. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Monday morning and should range in price from $50 to $225.Concert promoters have announced stops at Oakland’s McAffee Coliseum on June 13th and Los Angeles’ Dodgers Stadium on June 23rd.Sting officially announced the return of The Police during the Grammy Awards and his declaration was followed by a press conference at West Hollywood’s Whisky a Go-Go announcing the upcoming tourThe Police (which includes Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland) were a force in pop music with a string of hits including “Roxanne,” and “Every Breath You Take.” The group parted ways in 1984 with Sting breaking out as a solo artist.The tour, which is set to include about 21 dates in the U.S., is predicted to be one of the highest grossing events of the year, and could match other major musical acts such as the Rolling Stones and U2. The Police are part of a reunion movement happening in music that has seen other bands reunite including Genesis, Van Halen, and the Eagles.
