Melancholic, Brooklynite folk/pop/punk band, The Honorary Title will be making its major label debut this spring on Warner with ‘Scream and Light Up the Sky.’ The band will be previewing material from their new album on an upcoming tour with Butch Walker.
The new album reflects their Elvis Costello, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams influences while adding modern elements of big instrumentals and poetic, shout-out-loud vocals.
The tour kicks off March 22nd in Raleigh, NC with more dates still to be added. The new release will be their first since the Doghouse Records album ‘Anything but the Truth’ in 2004.
Jarrod Gorbel (vocals/lyrics/guitars) and Aaron Kamstra (bass/instrumentals) started the band as an acoustic two-piece but have since filled out the line-up to a full outfit. The new album, produced mainly by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, Beck) – with Butch Walker also pitching in for a track – reflects their Elvis Costello, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams influences while adding modern elements of big instrumentals and poetic, shout-out-loud vocals.
