Blues/rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd has confirmed the “Blues from the Backroads” national tour dates with legendary blues veterans (including Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, Bryan Lee and Buddy Flett) to support the ‘Ten Days Out’ CD/DVD.
Ten Days Out does an excellent job of capturing the stories and music from some of America’s best-known blues artists including B.B. King, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown and Honeyboy Edwards as well as some of the genre’s lesser-known rare talents.
Beginning in March, Shepherd will embark on a national tour along with several of the legendary blues musicians featured in the documentary including Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, Bryan Lee and Buddy Flett. The tour will kick off March 13 in Austin and feature performances in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago.
Shepherd—along with a film crew, a portable recording studio and producer Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads)—embarked on a ten-day journey into the heart of the American South, documenting and recording an impressive lineup of blues veterans. Warner Bros./Reprise Records releases the resulting documentary and accompanying live CD Ten Days Out (Blues From The Backroads) to acclaim.
Major PBS markets around the country are airing ‘Ten Days Out (Blues from the Backroads)’ throughout the winter and spring of 2007 including confirmed dates in Nashville, Louisiana, Denver, Milwaukee, Mississippi and Georgia. Please check local listings for specific times.
