It would be appriated if the academy would evaluate the artists ablity and not

their politics.how are we to know if awards are being given on the basis of

merit or for some other reason?

'Dixie Chicks, Jane Fonda No Difference!'

Uh, except that Jane Fonda doesn't sing. I know it's just eating you up that they didn't trot Lee Greenwood out for another stirring version of, 'God Bless the USA'. Maybe at the next Republican photo-op.

I recorded it and saw everything I wanted in the first 5 minutes. If The Police had performed at some later point in the show I probably would have paid attention to more of it.

I'm thrilled for the Dixie Chicks. They were really dissed a few years ago for simply speaking their mind. Our society still has a lot to learn about tolerance of others' opinions, especially when we may find ourselves in disagreement. I happy the whole experience fed their artistic talent and allowed them to turn-in this well received album.

Dixie Chicks, Jane Fonda No Difference!

Well, I guess you just had to be there.

Traitor Jane told Congress that our POWs (Prisoners of War) were lying when they said they were tortured by the North Vietnamese. Whether they were or not, there was no way she could have known. She is either the dumbest broad on the face of the planet or an out-and-out lying traitor. Most of the troops she called liars did not ask to be there; she went of her own free will.

There is no doubt that her well publicized trip to North Vietnam and her subsequent testimony gave aid and comfort to the enemy. She is a traitor who should have been prosecuted and her 'apology' was entirely self-serving.

The Dixie Chicks, on the other hand, have simply made true comments about the worst President this country has ever had.

Bravo Herman, You are absolutely right. I personally don't care about what they said and when they said it and how the song has something to do with it. The only people that perpetuate this boring story is the Dixie Chicks themselves. The drama behind her comments propelled their fame by leaps and bounds. As for them winning Best Song, Best Album, etc. etc. I didn't even think this song was best country song of year. I really think that artists with real talent got the shaft this year because the Grammy's decided they wanted to make a boring and stupid political statement. Hey HollyWierd!! We don't care....we just like good music.
