The Police are back and open the Grammys
By M&C News Feb 12, 2007, 1:14 GMT
“Ladies and Gentlemen, we are The Police and we are back!” With that announcement, The Police kicked off the 49th annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles - marking the first time they had performed lived since the group’s 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Police (Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland) were all smiles while they performed their hit song “Roxanne” and looked like they were having as much fun performing it as the audience was watching them.
The Grammy performance could be a hint of what fans can expect if the group launches a reunion tour this summer. An announcement about the tour is expected during a press conference scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12th, at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles. The tour is expected to start with dates in Canada and the U.S. The tour would be the first time The Police have hit the road together since they broke up in 1984.

They should have picked up a phone and sung it in.
Don't bother getting back together.
That was awful and painful to watch.
I wish they had totally rocked out with Synchroncity II (GREAT song), but I still enjoyed seeing them sing Roxanne again. Will definently see them on tour!
Give me a break and drop the Simon Cowell routine.
As someone whosaw them live in 1984, all I wanted after that one song was another and another. Tell us all what was wrong with what you heard.
Awesome. I'm definitely going to see them perform!
An expletive need not be a curse word to be rude. Why call someone an 'idiot' for a comment that does not match your expectations?
Since you asked for clarification:
I didn't like that they were going through the motions. They don't feel or act like a band. It was quite underwhelming. I hoped for and expected more. It was only 3 minutes but the band never gelled. They should have come together, picking up where they left off. And come back better than where they were-- or why bother? They are going to be a quick-buck reunion act. Noat The Police.
I'd appreciate you not calling someone an idiot for stating an opinion. I would not dare to call you one for stating yours.
