Brit Simon Cowell finds Bob Dylan boring

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has gone on record that he thinks iconic rock musician Bob Dylan is “boring” and he is personally glad that the hit Fox show has yet to produce a winner similar to Dylan’s style.
In an interview with Playboy magazine, Cowell stated that Dylan “bores him to tears,” and that he would rather listen to Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s music to any of Dylan’s vast catalog of songs.
Cowell further stated he believed that if the show produced singers of Dylan’s qualities it would fail to gain an audience. In the article, Cowell states "If I had ten Dylans in the final of American Idol, we would not be getting 30 million viewers a week." He continued by stating that Dylan would not make American Idol a better show.

Bob Dylan boring?

well obviously it's nice to have simon's opinion on things because he does know so much about music. its not as if dylan changed the course of music or anything...
The greatest living american artist (to me) is boring? What a joke. His pop music factory, American Idol is what is wrong with music today.
I say we put a guitar in Simon's hands and hear him perform a self penned song.
I'd be surprised to learn that Simon Cowell even listens to any music.

Imagine how horrible Bob must feel to know that a talentless moron on an insipid TV show thinks HE'S boring!
Not that Dylan would give a toss what a boneheaded publicity-seeking pissant like Cowell says but really, comparing that Idol dross with a true music legend is just stupefying. It ought to be noted that Cowell was born in the Chinese Year of the Bore (Boar)-how very appropriate!
Its been said many times over - while Bob has written some great tunes he should not be singing them.
If an unknown-to-you young Bob Dylan auditioned on AI today singing anything you'd be laughing guaranteed, not kneeling in divine rapture.

Yes, if an unknown Bob Dylan tried out for American Idol, he'd get laughed at. Why? Because American Idol is a disgrace and anybody with any intelligence should leave it be. American Idol is the scourge of society--the fact that more people vote for American Idol than the president is a flat-out DISGRACE. People wonder why the country is going to the dogs, it's because people don't care and would rather see some showy hack sing some useless dribble about flying without wings than go under the tutelage of one of the most brilliant government critics who ever walked the face of the earth. Maybe if people turned off a mindless ratings-worshipper like Simon Cowell and sat on the pavement and thought about the government the world would be a better place.
I can't believe I'm wasting my time answering this.
Does anyone care what Moob Man thinks about in his closet? Ryan Seacrest's tighty-whightys perhaps? Hey, I'm English and Bob is God, Cowell is an embarrassment, and you guys are welcome to the botoxed one!
I agree with simon he is boring. YEs he is the best song writer hes got mad skillz . but the way he sings he songs is utterly boring. there are far better vocalists out there. and dont say its not about the vocals. pfff neg. he mumbles and groans. ill admit some insane songs but seriously. dylans gone, old. move on.

Cowell is an idiot and his statements show it. They also show everything wrong with rock music today!
