Rap superstar Busta Rhymes is facing legal trouble again after being arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge following a complaint that was filed by a man claiming Busta beat him over a dispute about money.
Sporting a red shirt and jeans, Rhymes (whose real name is Trevor Smith and is 34) was booked into a Manhattan police station Wednesday night after turning himself into the police for the charge, according to police statements.
Police have said the man alleges that Rhymes punched and kicked him several times on Dec. 26th. The man, whose name has yet to be released, needed medical treatment from the attack.
Rhymes faced similar legal trouble in 2006 following an assault charge on August 12th. The charge was from an incident following his performance at the AmsterJam Music Festival on Randalls Island. The rapper has also been questioned by police as a potential witness in the shooting death of Israel Ramirez (Rhymes’ bodyguard) in February of 2006.
Busta has been a force in hip-hop for some time and seen success on the charts with hits like "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See," "Dangerous" and "Touch It." He has also branched out into acting with roles in "Shaft" and "Finding Forrester."

So according to Lazarius, Oprah should have more rappers/hip-hop artists on her TV show - right? Look at what Busta has been up to and ask yourselves, assuming he's innocent, how is it that he places himself in circumstances that end up somehow in the court system. Personally I don't care for rap or hip-hop music (for the most part) maybe Oprah doesn't either. Of course you have noticed that the topics and guests she has are things of interest to her mostly in the area of self-improvement and charity work. Typically things that devote themselves to making a person feel better about themself and things that bring improvement to others.
Busta (by his public actions and reputation) is someone who only seems to care about himself. In my opinion, he is accused of assult - folks typically are charged with assult because there is some disagreement and the parties involved choose to solve the problem with some form of violence. How is that good for anyone?
Busta, you are a rich man, made that way by your adoring public - this in turn makes you a role model. Some role model, how is that good for anyone? Is this the type of self-improvement or charity work that you want to advertise? Why would Oprah?
