Izzy joins Axl on stage in Los Angeles

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin gave fans a surprise when he walked out on stage on Sunday to join Axl Rose and his new lineup for five songs at the Gibson Amphitheatre near Hollywood.

Stradlin, who left the band in 1991 and went on to release five albums on his own or with his band the Ju Ju Hounds, was dressed in a dark suit, fedora hat and sunshades. He joined the band playing guitar and contributing harmonies on "Think About You," "Used to Love Her," "Patience" and "Nightrain." Stradlin then returned to the stage later to help Guns with "Paradise City." Although it was a treat for the Los Angeles fans, Stradlin has popped up at a few Guns N’ Roses concerts since Axl hit the road with his new band. The guitarist made a surprise appearance in May during the band’s four sold-out concert shows in New York and at a couple of concerts during the band’s European tour during the summer. Guns N’ Roses is expected to release the long awaited new studio album "Chinese Democracy" sometime in March, according to Rose’s latest statements on the band’s website.
