Coming off a big win at the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, R&B diva Mary J. Blige could be looking at another big night with eight Grammy Award nominations announced for the singer – who is seeing perhaps the biggest success of her carreer with her smash hit album ‘The Breakthrough.’

The singer took home nominations for album of the year, record of the year for "Be Without You" and song of the year for the same track.Along with Blige, could be in for a big night with six nominations. Other artist receiving multiple nominations included the controversial country trio the Dixie Chicks, British singer/songwriter James Blunt, singer John Mayer, pop icon Prince, and rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers – who received six nominations
Other album of the year nominations went to ‘Taking the Long Way’ from the Dixie Chicks, ‘St. Elsewhere’ from Gnarls Barley, ‘Continuum from John Mayer,’FutureSex/LoveSounds’ from Justin Timberlake and ‘Stadium Arcadium’ from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Blige was joined by James Blunt (“Your Beautiful”), Dixie Chicks (“Not Ready to Make Nice”), Gnarls Barkley ("Crazy") and Corinne Bailey Rae ("Put Your Records On") for record of the year.
Pop singer Christina Aguilera nailed nominations for best pop female vocal and best pop vocal album for "Ain't No Other Man." Other nominees for female pop vocal performance include Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, Pink and KT Tunstall. Male pop vocal performance nominees include James Blunt, John Legend, John Mayer, Paul McCartney and Daniel Powter,
Jamie Foxx, India.Arie, Prince and Lionel Ritchie join Blige on the nomination list for best R&B album. James Blunt, Chris Brown, Imogene Heap, Corinne Bailey Rae and Carrie Underwood took home nominations for best new artist. The awards will be announced on Sunday, Feb. 11th, in Los Angeles.
