Snoop busted following Tonight Show performance
By M&C News Nov 29, 2006, 12:43 GMT

Rapper Snoop Dogg is once again in trouble with the law after he was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing a handgun and possession of drugs. The arrest happened as he left NBC Studios in Burbank following his performance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Dogg (who is 35 and whose real name is Calvin Broadus) and two other people (who are known to be gang members) were arrested by police following a search. Police officers seized a handgun and some illegal drugs, according to statements from Sgt. Kevin Grandalski.
Snoop was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, transporting marijuana, and having a false compartment in his vehicle, according to Grandalski.
The rapper’s attorney stated he was detained as the car he traveled in left the studio. He was booked into the jail for investigation of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Snoop paid $60,000 in bail and was released after 1 a.m. on Wednesday. He spent about seven hours in jail. He is expected to be in court for arraignment on Jan. 11th.
The bust was the follow-up to a police investigation that stemmed from the performer’s Oct. 26th arrest at the Bob Hope Airport. He was arrested there for reportedly possessing a firearm and for having marijuana in his vehicle. Snoop has yet to be charged in that case, but he does have a Dec. 12th arraignment court date to answer for the incident.
Snoop is also facing a Dec. 4th arraignment court date in Orange County for his Sept. 27th arrest involving carrying a deadly weapon at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. The charges are from when airport security officers discovered a collapsible baton in Snoop’s carry-on luggage. At the time of his arrest, he informed the officers the baton was a prop for a movie that he was getting ready to film.
Snoop Dogg was convicted in 1990 of cocaine possession. The rapper was acquitted of murder in 1996 after being charged in the death of an alleged street gang member.

What is a Snoop Dog? Im in my 50's and have no knowldege of this kind of animal.
Ted subscribes to the current way of thinking which does not and will not ever work. Putting a guy like snoop away for drugs will only save snoop and no one else all at the tax payers expense. If the police really thought he was a drug dealer they would charge him as such, trust me they would love the opportunity to hit him with something that big.
P.S.: Ted are you Ted Haggard? If so you need to be locked up more then snoop.
that is wrong people deserve to protect their selves and you just dumb you dont know nothing about him
I suggest the judge telegraph the entertainment community. Breaking the law on a whim, for free publicity, or for any personal gain is a no no.
Put doggy dog in jail for life. What does a career criminal have to do to prove himself? Snoopy has earned the right to be taken care of by the state for the duration.
Besides, he probably would prefer playing peek-a-boo with penises instead of breasts anyway.
Snoops a T H U G, and just a little dumb. What do you expect from such a person? He is highly visable, has tons of money, and is still a thug at heart. He was rolling with two homeboys and was chillin. He just happend to have his gun in case some crazed fan..? or uhh, assasin....? or uhh, some gang member looking for revenge on the gang member he killed in 98? Give me a break, the only reason he needs protection is because he chooses to suround himslef with bad people.. its good for his street cred right? As far as the drugs go, who gives a !#*%. He is no dealer, just a user with enough money to buy enough for the house. Legalize the crap, tax the hell out of it and use the money to put more cops on the street and pay for the ones who go to jail who can't afford the lawyers snoops uses to keep out of jail.
Sounds to me like a bad case of profiling. This poor man had no reason to be searched, or arrested. He is and lives in constant danger because of his art, and thus deserves to have some modicum of protection outside of law enforcement, who often do nothing to prevent violence aforehand. The [police officers in this country can only respond afterwards, and then often too late. But they make arrests, unwarranted, before. This profiling needs to stop. Snoop has every right to his fair treatment under the constitution as anyone else does, and we need to realise that, and treat him like all others...EQUAL.
No Mas
nice vocabulary...
He has no right to own posses or carry a weapon. He gave up that right when he commited the felony.
Put you thesauras away and pick up a law book....
Hey Ron.... learn to speaka english.
Snoop. Well, he's a convicted felon, and whether you like it or not he's violated the law (again) by having a weapon on his person, not to mention drugs. And, yeah... that baton was really a 'movie prop' alright. Bull. What is it about some of these whiners that don't want our laws enforced. Move to Russia please. You'll make America a better place. Now that's something you can be proud of!
Snoop is pulling a prank just before his album release....
I'm sure he will be out soon. I saw him in wales last summer yay.
without guns he could be targeted by other gangs...so there you go.
snoop dogg is an aminal that comes with five legs....!
No mas
People with equal behavior get treated equal. When your behavior falls out of the norm (as established by CIVILIZED people!) , you get treated appropriately. When you act like a thug, expect to get treated equal to your peers - thugs. Act like a decent citizen...... well, life becomes just a bit more pleasant. It really does payoff. Really!
Ok, ok, ok so the man carries a weapon. Big deal. The man has marijuana big deal. He has coke big deal. He's not selling it, it's obviously for personal use. I mean he's not lacking for money, so why would he be pushing. He's not driving, if he gets in trouble he's not going to be the one using a gun. Sure arrest the thugs he's with, they're probably trouble.
This guy is a thug, he's a repeat criminal, and he deserves to be locked up as much as any gun carrying felon drug user. Who wants to have a convicted felon smoking marijuana and high on cocaine with a gun in their neighborhood? Not me. Put the lowlife away, and show that armed felon drugusers are not the upstanding role models many seem to see them as....
Snoop better be able to do his tour in January
Snoop Dogg is an animal and a killer he has killed so many people that it is ridiculous that he is still a free man. Why did he kill so many. All he does is drink gin and murder people. He also uses drugs and pushes drugs on the weak. He is a killer....
why would anybody write or care about this type of person or behavior?
isn't there something more important for any of you to do?
People need to stop propping these kinds of losers up and hold them accountable for CRIMES. These kinds of people are not HEROS or SUCESSFUL, they are lucky MORONS.
Money doesn't make you.
Take any jerk, put him through medical school, and at the end what do you have? Dr. Jerk. People are what they are and no amount of fame or money or title will change them.
He's a criminal, start treating him like one.
You're all sitting there in front of your fancy PC's with all the free time in the world to post your little messages about how Snoop's a criminal. How do you pay for that computer or pay your bills? Were you ever given only one choice to make that kind of money? Has society and economics forced you to sell crack to make a decent living? Then don't make a judgement on somebody you've never met and know nothing about his character or circumstances. You're making prejidicial judgments based on the way he looks and the money he has.
Well, as wrong as America's drug laws are, Snoop has no reason to carry a gun, as he can afford body guards, and he is kinda asking for a search when he raps constantly about guns and drugs, not to mention the big shiny potleaf he was carrying on stage on the tonight show.
If he were white he never even would have been pulled over. He did not resist arrest or go on some sort of racist tirade. So he is one of the millions of americans who smoke pot BIG DEAL. Cops love to target hip-hop celebrities, need we list the false arrests to date? Snoop smokes his weed and spits his rhymes and makes people happy, lets let him be. As far as the weapons charge, If you grew up in Compton and were a millionare you would carry a gun to protect yourself too. We all know he can't rely on the LAPD to protect him, they are too busy beating down innocent civilians!

'You're all sitting there in front of your fancy PC's'
- So are you or how would you have posted this? Are you typing this from your prison computer or the one society provided for you in the public library?
Lomar
'How do you pay for that computer or pay your bills?'
- From a J O B like 99.9% of the mostly law abiding citizens.
Lomar
'Were you ever given only one choice to make that kind of money?'
-So you have no choice what you do with your life?
Lomar
'Has society and economics forced you to sell crack to make a decent living?'
-Major copout blaming society and economics. This is America and whether or not you realize it, a decent living comes from hard work, walking a straight line and motivation are all you need to succeed in this country. So you might not get to buy the most expensive car or the 60” plasma, or live in a 40,000 sq foot home but you can make a decent living.
Lomar
'You're making prejidicial judgments based on the way he looks and the money he has.'
- Actually it was pretty much the fact that he murdered someone and feels he is above the law. I could care less if his name was George Bush and he was whiter than snow, he prejudiced himself by his own actions.
Profiling? Are you telling me that the police shouldn't keep their eyes on known scumbags?
I wish I could force you middle-class wannabes to take up residence in Harlem or East LA or some other breeding gound for low-grade thugs. Then we'd find out if you'd want this raw sewage running in your neighborhood streets.
Why hasnt the REVEREND JACKSON called for The Dogg to go to jail, for the kids to stop buying The Doggs music??
Because the racist Jackson is a fake
By no means am i justifying drug use, but how bad is your habit when you have to carry that much with you to a t.v taping. Why is he driving around possesing narcotics knowing the cops have it in for him. (Even though he bought it on himself) Come on now, Snoop has enough money to where he can hire armed bodyguards to protect him. He doesnt really need to carry a gun. It doesnt matter how he grew up. The point is that he doesnt live in the hood now and has no reason to still act thuggish. If he was smarter he would have hired people to get there hands dirty so he wouldnt have to.
From Snoop Dog to Inmate #38484782302394 in less than a week. Doh! What was he thinking? Maybe he will be able to teach his new prison girlfriend how to rap.....
Figures!
Guys, some of you are silly, some of you are blind, some of you are prejudiced, and some of you are smart. You figure out what category you belong to.
You know damn well that if this were to have happened to anyone other than the obvious, that they would have tossed the &^@#%*er in jail and thrown away the key!! NOW, everyone in their right mind knows that if you do something you aren't supposed to be doing, eventually your are gonna get caught and when a person does they have no business cryin', what comes around goes around!!!

This fellow should be locked up just like anyother drug pusher and not released until at least 15 years has been served. Someday, you had better believe he will pull out that gun and someone, will be at the receiving end.
