Bono rocks with Pearl Jam at concert by Melbourne G20 summit

Bono joined Eddie Vedder and the rest of Pearl Jam for a duet of “Rocking in the Free World” at the free “Make Poverty History Concert” held at an open air amphitheater a short walk from the upcoming Melbourne G20 summit. The concert was the kickoff to a call for the end to world poverty and three days of protests that will accompany the summit.

During the duet, Bono encouraged the crowd to help give a voice to the cause.
"Politicians have to do what you tell them to do. We are gonna make poverty history," he said to the crowd.Parts of Melbourne have been blocked off by police and other authorities to help keep expected protestors from reaching the summit - which saw violent clashes between protestors and authorities at the World Economic Forum in Melbourne in 2000. The summit is a meeting between finance ministers and central bankers that is scheduled to be held on Saturday and Sunday. The Stop G-20 group has already announced plans for a rally on Saturday with hopes of disrupting the event.As organizers began arriving for the event on Friday, Various Church and aid groups kicked off the three days of protest - which is expected to see thousands attend.
