Tenacious D’s ‘The Pick of Destiny’ rockets to top iTunes charts

Pre-orders of Tenacious D’s new album, ‘The Pick of Destiny,’ soared up the iTunes sales charts – pushing the album to #1 on the iTunes Album chart in just two days.

Jack & Kyle not only rock hard, they act their asses off and are taking their mastery to a whole new level in their epic mini-movie “Time Fixers.” The Tenacious D’s D-ciples are responding by coming out in full-force to pre-order the D’s first album in 5 years and download the special free Tenacious D video.

The first half of the mini-film is a free download on iTunes. When you pre-order the album you receive the conclusion of the film on November 14th. The D are taking the masses with them as this special free Tenacious video takes hold of the viral world and has  started showing up on YouTube and blogs all over the web.

This special Tenacious D/iTunes promotion marks the first time that a teaser clip with a cliff hanger has been used for a pre-order at iTunes. Tenacious D’s new album will be released November 14th, while their film Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny will be released nationwide on November 22.

Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny stars Jack Black and Kyle Gass as the power acoustic duo Tenacious D. The film tells the story of how “The D” became the self-proclaimed greatest band on Earth.
