Oslo - Singer Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, was slated to make a comeback at a concert in connection with the awards of the Nobel Peace Prize in December, reports said Tuesday.
Oslo daily Verdens Gang reported that the 56-year-old singer, who changed his name after converting to Islam, was among the acts at the concert to be hosted by Hollywood stars Sharon Stone and Anjelica Huston.
The traditional Nobel Peace Prize Concert is scheduled for December 11 in Oslo in honour of the peace prize winners.
The 2006 awards were shared by Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh and the organization Grameen Bank for creating a micro-credit loans system to promote economic and social development.
The peace prize is one of the prizes created by Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite. The prize ceremonies are traditionally held December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's death.
Performers at the December 11 concert include Lionel Richie, Simply Red, Renee Fleming and country star Wynnona Judd.
