The Dixie Chicks have announced that they will be releasing an expanded edition of their sales-record breaking ‘Taking the Long Way’ album – which will now include bonus DVD live performances of several of the Chick’s biggest hits. The album will be re-released on Nov. 14th. The bonus DVD will include performances of "Taking The Long Way," "Easy Silence," "Voice Inside My Head," "Truth #2," and "Wide Open Spaces" that were recorded from the Chicks’ appearance on AOL Sessions. The DVD will also include a video clip of "Not Ready To Make Nice" - the record breaking music video for the most weeks at #1 on VH1 Top 20 Countdown, and an in-depth interview with the album's producer Rick Rubin.
The Chicks will also be making their way into select theaters on Friday with the release of ‘Shut Up And Sing.’ The documentary travels with the Dixie Chicks, from the peak of their popularity as the darlings of country music through the now infamous anti-Bush comment made by Natalie Maines in 2003.
It follows the lives and careers of the Dixie Chicks over this trying period during which they were under political attack and received death threats, while continuing to live their lives, have children, and of course make music. The film ultimately presents who the Dixie Chicks are as women, public figures, and musicians.
