No crucifixion of Madonna for NBC concert
By M&C News Oct 19, 2006, 20:57 GMT

Although it is one of the most controversial segments of her current tour or possibly because it is, it appears NBC has decided not to include the “crucifixion” portion of Madonna’s “Confessions” concert set to air on the network on November 22nd.
Sources inside NBC have stated that the network will cut the two-hour concert to edit the portions of the concert where the pop diva sings “Live to Tell” and is normally suspended from a giant cross while wearing a crown of thorns. The NBC concert was taped during Madonna’s performance at Wembley Stadium in London.
It is not clear if Madonna, who is executive producing the concert special and has defended the concert segment on numerous occasions, will agree to the changes wanted by NBC, but the network has stated concern about the broadcast in the wake of protest from various Christian groups.
