Babyshambles cancel tour so singer Pete Doherty can deal with rehab aftermath

Pete Doherty, who is well known for his drug problems and shaky relationship with model Kate Moss, has announced the cancellation of the remaining dates on his current British tour with his band Babyshambles. The singer has blamed the need to cancel the tour on a desire to give himself time to recoup from his latest round of drug rehab.
Doherty and Babyshambles had made about half of the current tour – which was only supposed to last about 13 days. The tour was Doherty’s first time to take the stage since completing his latest stint in a London drug rehabilitation clinic.
A band spokesman stated the singer and other band members decided it was too soon for Doherty to head out on tour, and that they hoped their fans would understand.
Canceled tour dates included Friday’s Liverpool show, along with the remaining four concerts scheduled for Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle.
