I believe WEED should be legal. No one has said anything about the Bars being open til 2:00 am and legally serving alcohol and people driving their cars and killing themselves and others. You want the truth? Here goes I would rather have someone on pot out in public instead of r/x drugs which in most cases are worse than pot. I have never seen someone die of just smoking weed and staying home. I have seen someone drink at home and kill theirself by drinking themselves to death. I have seen kids strung out on sugar bouncing off walls by candy which is legal.I've seen alot of bad stuff from drugs and other substances. Why not listen to qualified doctors and let them tell us which are bad and which are not. If we listen to all the hype you can make anything look bad. Why not put all the corn farmers and tobacco farmers back to work by legalizing pot. Which would also help with global warming because pot will turn carbon dioxide into oxygen. By the way my personal doctor told me he would rather have me on pot than pills. Look at all the facts not the hype.
We as the society need to make sure Billy won't switch to Heroin or Crack Cocaine, that's why we have to enforce these laws. For his own good. Nobody knows if he would be standing on the corner selling rocks at no time. Marijuana is a very dangerous gateway drug kids, and we have to go on with the war on drugs to protect our kids from the dangers of becoming a marijuana fiend like4 Billy :)

I just returned home for a cruise to Jamacia. I miss the laied back outlook there. The drug laws are bull****. Excuse for the goverenment to make cash and fund the private sector by building prisons to hold the people arrested. Waste of time and money trying to leglislate morality. I don't see anything wrong with marijuana and mushrooms, as long as the people that are using them aren't hurting others.
This brings me to another point though: if the driver of the bus (or anyone who had driven the bus and it can be proven) was under the influence, he/they deserve a stiff penalty. It's impairing to one's abilities, just as alcohol is. That's what is important here.

I love Willie's music. It's great, but any 73 year-old that is driving around the country smoking pot and shrumes has problems. Most people learn by age 25 that partying is only a short-term fix.
It's not surprising or uncommon but unfortunate that a man that could be a positive role model to youth sets such a poor example.
when I was 7 my mom followed a High School a sweetheart to tennessee and left me and my brother at a safe place away from my alcoholic dad who beat the shit out of her in front of us. As the weeks and months went by that Willie Nelson record played like my moms freedom cry. On a snowy Buffalo night during the blizzard of 1977 my mom moved me and my brother to Knoxville tennessee. She went to Catholic school and graduated high school a sleder hot virgen unlike you holy rolling sluts that That are now lard asses taking your you best rendetion of sweet potato casserole with your I'm Fat but cute minnie marshmellows cover the top of it. The first time my mom ever smelled burnt rope was at that Willie concert in Tennessee. She moved us thier. Thank you so much willie for inspiring my mom to back us up and move away from everyone. You make people change. Life is great in tennesse and i would not be here if it was not for some 'life is better down south' music that you sing. Smoke all you can, It has no effect on me but you as a person has certianly made my life better.

Well my response to this is 'so what is new'. Everyone knows that Willie has smoked pot for years. Smoking pot is no worse than the big shot executives hitting happy hours everyday. If our government were smart, they would legalize pot, put a tax on it and get our country out of debt. Let's concentrate on the more important things going on in this world than Willie and his band smoking pot. They were not hurting or harming anyone and did not possess any problem causing situation. So what if they had mushrooms and pot on their band bus. Let's stop picking on Willie and start picking on the people that really need picking on such has his fellow Texas, George W. The responders to this blog forget that pot is illegal. How will we differentiate the Willie Nelson's with talent and money to the average kid? I know when my son (age 17) was picked up with 43 grams of pot (just over 1 1/2 ounces-not pounds) my car was confiscated. I did not get it back for over a year. This went to trial. The entire time I made payments on my vehicle and purchased another one. Where's Willie's bus? Do we treat everyone equally under the law or only those with money?

I am a 28 year old college student. I recently did an essay on the legalization of marijuana and no where in my research (and trust me i did 3 weeks of the crap) did I find that marijuana is a 'gateway' drug. As a matter of fact, I found more good that it does than harm. For example,
