Madonna gets ready to rock Moscow behind 7,000 police and soldiers

Moscow - At least 7,000 Moscow police and soldiers took up their positions in Moscow Tuesday to provide security for Madonna's first concert in Russia.
Half would be on duty at the concert venue, the Luzhniki Football stadium, said Moscow police chief Vacheslav Koslov.
A crowd of up to 52,000 were expected at the concert Tuesday evening. Koslov said that 3,500 officials had been posted to other parts of Moscow.
The US super star arrived in Moscow Monday evening to stage her Confessions show.
Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church renewed their calls for a boycott of the show, which it considers blasphemous. The show features Madonna in a crucifixion pose.
The date and venue of the Moscow concert was kept quiet for a long time for security reasons.
Trouble was anticipated during admission to the concert as the organizers had sold 35,000 tickets for the original date of Monday.
Fans were supposed to be able to swap these for tickets for Tuesday evening. However, there were long queues at the venue's box office and it was not known how many had succeeded in doing so.
