Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie kicks crystal meth addiction
Sep 12, 2006, 9:14 GMT
New York - Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie said beating an addiction to deadly drug crystal meth was the hardest thing she has ever done, US magazine reported Monday.
'It [meth] was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with,' said the 31-year-old singer whose real name is Stacey Ferguson.
'It's the drug that's addicting.
'But it's why you start doing it in the first place that's interesting. A lot of it was being a child actor; I learned to suppress feelings.'
The hip-hop singer starred for nine years in the 1980s Disney Channel series, Kids Incorporated.
Fergie has just released her first solo album, The Dutchess.
