Rapper 50 Cent is facing several traffic violation charges following an arrest by New York City police officers on Friday. The performer (whose real name is Curtis Jackson) was charged with making an unsafe lane change, carrying an expired driver’s license, driving an uninsured car, and driving a vehicle not registered in the state of New York.
The arrest happened with police in an unmarked car pulled Jackson’s silver Lamborghini over at the intersection of 8th and 35th Ave. in Manhattan at around 2:00 pm. 50 Cent was removed from the car, handcuffed and taken to a police station where he was issued a summons for the charges.
The rapper, who was once shot nine times in front of his grandparent’s home in Queens, does have a criminal history that includes felony drug and weapon charges.
